| Mihome, 34, arrived in Germany five months ago with her three children. An ethnic Albanian from Kosovo, she says she spent two years in jail because of her husband's political activity. Kosovo is largely ethnic Albanian, separatist region of Yugoslavia. Her husband, Shiomi, left Kosovo and sought political asylum in Germany four years ago. He has lived on a ship in Mulheimer Harbor for refugees for 15 months, waiting for an apartment. |

| Life onboard the ship is monotous. Days are spent waiting for meals, and walking the childen to school. It will be better when they can cook and clean fo themselves, Shohimi says. "We've been married 18 years, and my wife has always cooked for me. I've seen some German women don't cook, but that's not a good idea."
