September 30 - Chita
Sergei and Natasha and Natasha's teenage daughter Katya have been a real pleasure to to get to know. Even Teddy, their hyperactive French Bulldog who wants eat all of our equipment, is begining to grow on me.
October 1 - Chita
It's 11:00 p.m. and we are sitting in the office of Sprint International's local network node waiting as our last four photos upload. Not the most exciting part of this job. We had some problems with the telephone line out of Sergei and Natasha's place, and were forced to bypass the local loop to ensure that we get all our material sent off tonight. We catch another train in the morning for Ulan Ude, the capital of the Buryatia Autonomous Republic.
