On the future of Russia:

Thinking about the future of Russia, I imagine it to be more joyful and happy. I hope that in a few years, when the economy of our country becomes stronger, that all beople will be kinder to each other, that frowning faces will turn into warm smiles. Old people won't be poor and cast off. And children of immigrants won't beg for money and bread from foreigners. They will all study in school.

When we have a wise leader (president) at the head of our government, there will be no war in Russia, and the mothers won't cry about their sons killed in Chechnya.

Maybe then there will only be good news on television and entertainment programs. No one will ever deceive anyone else.

Scientists will learn how to control earthquakes and volcanoes. And people won't be killed, they will be sent into space.

Most likely, engineers will think up ships that won't sink in the ocean, and planes that won't crash.

In St. Petersburg it will be clean and orderly everywhere. In the flower beds there will be flowers instead of trash, and people will sell things only in stores and markets, not on the streets. On public transportation, all people will be polite and courteous.
