Clinica Esperanza

Clinica Esperanza provides preventative and clinical health care to the people who live in and around Tijuana's municipal garbage dump. The services provided are all free and it is run by a group of Catholic nuns from the international order Servants of Saint Margarita Maria of the Poor. In addition to working in Mexico, they are also found in Peru, the United States and Iceland. At the moment there are four nuns working in Tijuana. Sister Inés Trejo, who is in charge of the clinic, and the sisters Laura Rodriguez, Sara Mariscal and Veronica Becerra.
