In Tijuana, the Casa de la Mujer grabbed hold of the issue and took action with a publicity campaign about the need for safe and legal abortion. In November they coordinated a forum with pro-choice organizations in the United States and Mexico to educate women maquiladora workers about their history, rights as women workers, and to create a self-sufficient, grassroots movement that seeks to educate other women. |
